More about Kayla and Andrew

FAR FROM FINAL COPY

Andrew grew up around music before he ever thought of it as work. He played tuba through college and came up in a family deeply rooted in gospel — a tradition built on knowing exactly when to build and when to let a room breathe. He's been DJing for over fifteen years, which means the technical instincts and the musical ones aren't separate skills for him. They're the same skill.

We started doing events together ten years ago, and we've spent every one since refining what we do — learning what a room actually needs, in real time, whether it's ten people or six hundred. That's given us something you can only earn, not shortcut: real confidence in the moments where there's no margin for error. The vows. The first dance. The toast that can't be redone.

Before Party Proper, Kayla worked in wine sales. Andrew baked bread. Different trades, same discipline — both built on patience, precision, and knowing the difference between "close enough" and actually ready. That standard is the one we brought with us.

What we're building, every time, is simple to say and hard to execute: a room where the joy is real, where everyone belongs on the floor, and where the production behind it is so clean nobody has to think about it at all.
