Party Proper is a bespoke DJ, live music, and sound engineering service. We use sound and entertainment to bring people together. We’re based in Santa Barbara, California.

We are an entertainment agency creating transcendent experiences for elevated events.

With over 10 years of experience and hundreds of events under our belt, we are experts in both designing and producing uniquely tailored performances and soundscapes. We achieve this through a magical combination of talented musicians, meticulous sound engineering, and elite equipment.

Party Proper is a husband-and-wife owned business based in Santa Barbara, California.

We curate live music and DJ sets to bring your event to life.

From solo artists all the way up to large dance bands, we specialize in procuring amazing talent and producing performances to meet the moment.

Origin story.

Andrew and Kayla make up the husband-and-wife team that started Party Proper in 2017. Andrew was an underground Disco and House DJ performing as the “Persian House Cat” (his alter ego) when Kayla entered the picture. Together they found a rhythm, balancing the creative aspects of an event entertainment business with their passion for creating excellent client experiences.

Kayla handles all things client related that lead up to an event. Andrew executes day of production, talent, and performance.

Kayla and Andrew were married in 2020 and have two children. In their free time, you can find them playing Mahjong or enjoying a cappuccino and tea at the coffee shop.
